DATSIK 2012 EURO TOUR

If you have even a passing interest in dubstep – or electronic music in general for that matter – Datsik will be a name with which you are already familiar.

Over the last few years the Canadian DJ and producer has taken the dubstep scene by storm, tearing up speakers and dance floors alike with a series of hard hitting and original releases on labels like Rottun, Basshead and Dim Mak as well as a non-stop touring schedule. Ensuring that he continues to push the envelope, Datsik looks far and wide for inspiration, from hip hop to dubstep, moombahton to metal, and having remixed and collaborated with the likes of Bassnectar, Noisia, Diplo and Wu-Tang Clan his inimitable style continues to win over fans at every new turn.

With a slew of Beatport No.1s to his name, support from some of the biggest DJs in the scene and a burgeoning label in the form of Firepower Records, his hard work came to fruition with the release of his revelatory debut album ‘Vitamin D’ earlier this year on Dim Mak. Featuring collaborations with Infected Mushroom, Downlink and Z-Trip, the twelve-track album is a decisive artistic statement and rightfully won plenty of praise.

Off the back of the release of ‘Vitamin D’, Datsik is set to embark on his biggest shows to date this side of the Atlantic on his European tour this summer. Starting in Paris on 5th July and taking in 11 dates in just 10 days, this will be a rare chance to see the dubstep goliath and witness his uncompromising and high-octane sound in person.
